Bergen Synergy partners with Sunday Power on integrated rooftop solar

Bergen Synergy and Sunday Power are making it easier for business customers to adopt solar energy. Through the partnership, solar power from a customer's own roof can be delivered on the same invoice as the rest of their electricity use.

Solar as part of the power strategy

For Bergen Synergy, this means customers can add local energy production to their existing electricity agreement. The partnership is already in use in the rollout of solar installations at REMA 1000 stores. Here, Sunday Power works with several leading property owners such as Ragde Eiendom to install solar panels through the Solar as a Service model on more than 20 store buildings.

The solution helps strengthen the energy profile of the buildings, often with a higher energy rating. At the same time, neither the property owner nor the tenant takes on the investment or the operational responsibility.

"The partnership lets us offer customers a larger share of renewable power in a simple way," says Geir-Arne Mo, CEO of Bergen Synergy.

"Together with Bergen Synergy, we can offer a solution where customers get solar power as part of their existing electricity agreement. That lowers the threshold for adopting local energy production," says Rikard af Ekenstam, CCO of Sunday Power.

The solution has also been well received in the stores.

"Customers ask about our solar initiative all the time. As a store owner, I am convinced that a greener building pays off in tough competition," says Thor Fredrik Borgersen, store owner at REMA 1000 Siljan.
